The Women of Proverbs 31 Hoodie

"Eshet Chayil" is the Hebrew phrase in Proverbs 31 that is often translated "the noble woman" but is perhaps more completely translated as the "powerful" or "effective" woman. Historically, some Jewish communities viewed each of the lines of the acrostic poem in Proverbs 31 as featuring a different Hebrew matriarch. 

Traditionally, Jewish men in these communities sang this poem during the Sabbath meal to honor those matriarchs and the women at their table.
