About the Event
When the doctrines just get too messy, when the category errors start stacking up, when the weirdness just gets too goopy to sort through - that's what Deep Dives are for. These mini-cohorts are meat-and-potatoes decon-recon, going right at the heart of what was weaponized to harm and restoring it for its intended purpose: healing and peace.
"Delayed obedience is disobedience!" "Repentance means changing your mind AND your behavior!" "Don't trust your emotions; that's your heart leading you into sin!" "Right behavior follows right beliefs!" "The sin of empathy." "Be killing sin, or it will be killing you." "You're only deconstructing because you want to sin!" Any of those chestnuts sound familiar? If you grew up in certain corners of evangelicalism or Christian Nationalism, you're quite familiar with these warnings. They were (and still are) wielded like clubs to keep people in line.
